2018-2019 Chestnut Hill Middle Reading Challenge

In an effort to encourage independent reading among our students, Chestnut Hill Middle is having a Reading Challenge throughout the 2018-2019 school year. Readers earn points by reading books that fall within the challenge categories listed below. The individuals earning the MOST points during the school year may win prizes and awards!

A book read over the summer (1)

A book with a yellow cover (1)

A book that has a main character with a disability (2)

A book you didn’t think you would like (2)

A non-fiction book that relates to something you are learning in a class (3)

A book with alliteration in the title (1)

A book with an unappealing cover (2)

A book that is historical fiction (1) 

A book you read not at home (2) 

A book that you did not like (2) 

A book set in a different country (2)

A book a friend recommended (1)

A book recommended by a teacher (2) 

A graphic novel (1) 

A book you've already read at least once (1)

A book from the library (1) 

A banned/challenged book (2)

An audiobook (2) 

A book with a main character who is of mixed race (2)

A book whose main character is not human (1)

A book that uses words from a foreign language (2)

A book you chose because of the cover (1)

A book that is over 300 pages (2)
